Home in Litten Estates garners Best of Show and Best Kitchen prizes
Hearne Development was a big winner Friday night during the Monroe County Builder’s Association’s Parade of Homes awards ceremony at the Bloomington Monroe County Convention Center. Hearne walked away with the grand prize Best of Show award and a Best Kitchen award for its 2,176 square foot ranch home in Litten Estates.

“To be recognized by my peer group for the hard work I put into this home is a great feeling,” said developer/builder Brian Hearne. “It really puts the long hours and dedication spent building the home and developing Litten Estates into perspective for me and reaffirms my commitment to quality.”

The kitchen is equipped with quartz silestone countertops, granite sink, Amish cabinetry, Whirlpool Gold® appliances and Delta® faucets. In addition to the award-winning kitchen, the home also features three bedrooms and three bathrooms, including a custom tiled master bath with jetted tub and separate walk-in shower; dining room with tray ceiling, bonus room, two large country style porches and a screened porch, full-home audio system with 16 speakers, and a full security system with video surveillance.

“Litten Estates is a distinctive single-family home development; not you’re your typical cookie-cutter development,” Hearne said. “All of our homes are unique and different. This is the first year Hearne, who also is a realtor for ER Lewis & Company, has entered the Parade of Homes. The competition was divided into two classes. Hearne’s winning home, which is on the market for $270,000, was in the class for homes selling for less than $315,000. The other class was for homes above $315,000. Judging was done by an independent, five-person panel of Indiana inspectors from outside of Monroe County.

Litten Estates is a 73-lot development off Indiana State Road 46 west of Ellettsville. Currently, 24 of the lots have been developed.
